What is Mologogo?
Mologogo is a free service that will track you and your friends using GPS-enabled mobile phones.
What can Mologogo do?
From your phone or the web, Mologogo shows you where you and your friends are at any moment. If you are on the go, Mologogo can alert you when friends are close, search around for points of interest, and keep you updated with local traffic and weather. Mologogo even supports mobile chat, so you can reach out to your nearby friends instantly. If you are on your PC, you can see all of your friends - locations, sign up new friends, bookmark locations, and show your Mologogo location on your own web page or blog.
Will Mologogo work on my phone?
Mologogo currently works on any Nextel, Sprint, or Boost Mobile phones with Java and GPS. Mologogo is also available for the Nextel Blackberries, as well as Windows Mobile Pocket PC Phones and SmartPhones on any mobile operator with external or internal GPS.
If you don't have a compatible phone, consider purchasing an inexpensive Mologogo tracking phone. These pre-paid phones can be left in your car or briefcase, and come with Mologogo already installed, all you have to do is turn the phone on and run the application! Starter Kits are now available through our online store. (sales help support Mologogo)
What do I need to do to get started?
- Sign up for an account on the website.
- Determine if your phone supports Mologogo or order a starter phone.
- If you are using your own phone, download the application to the phone.
- Run the Mologogo application on your phone
- That's it, you are in! You should see yourself on a map, like we always say: "Wherever you go, there you are!".
Once you are up and running, you can add friends, set up locations, add local search and weather, and see your last 100 points from your personal homepage on the website.
What do you really mean by "free"?
Mologogo is free. Totally free. We weren't kidding. Mologogo uses your cell phone's data plan, so that may cost you money if you pay by how much data you use.
Where can I find the user manual and technical support information?
The manual can be found here. The Mologogo wiki functions as our technical support forum and has lots of other information about the service. If you still are looking for answers, you can email us at info at Mologogo.com.
Who controls my data?
You do. You can specify who sees your location, from absolutely anyone to only those you invite. After you log in, when you add someone as a friend, you are giving them permission to view your location.
If you want, you can share your location maps out through your own website or blog, and you can even send your location data directly back from your phone to your own web server. (details here)
